I bought a VHF radio online and I was disappointed to find out that the radio had been taken out of the box and fiddled with. As it turns out there is something wrong with it. When you purchase online everything is based on trust; when there is no longer trust, there is no business.
I have never walked into their shop, simply because of the price they're selling their calor gas bottles. They must be quite expensive in there.
One more thing, there is a problem with their website, because my phone freezes when I open their page.

Terrible experience with them
Terrible experience with them. I bought a relevant order more than 300 Euros. I sent to them a lot emails and they answer to me always late and with little clarity regarding my order and shipping to the UK. After a week they replied that my order had to be canceled and that the goods took 6-7 weeks to deliver. I then asked for a refund of my order paid by credit card. They deleted my account and they no longer reply to my emails. My money has not yet been returned. Stay away from this seller, they are not serious and truly unreliable

Terrible experience
Terrible experience, they charged me 16 pounds for delivery and said it was for excessive weight (I hope my small amount of rope, 2 high load thimbles and a splicing eye don't weigh that much). Then they send the order without the rope, when I called they told me they forgot it and it would ship that day. Three days later still haven't received it, so lied to as well. No tracking nothing, I won't order from them again as i have had to source this elsewhere now as I need for the weekend.

Very helpful customer service from Chichester branch. Despite the pressures from other customers they found the time to deal with my particular eccentricities. So thank you.
Mail order nightmare
I ordered an item for urgent repairs to my tender. Next day delivery terms were offered, (“if you order within the next 1 hour 19 minutes”) so expected it Wednesday, which was critical to me (the nearest Force4 shop didn’t have any stock). It didn’t turn up. On Thursday I phoned them and discovered that it was going to be despatched that day and I could expect it on Monday. I told them I was unhappy and asked them to refund the postage as they had not performed as promised. The rather arrogant young man refused to do it as, he said, the high cost of postage was due to the length of the item not the fact that it was a next day service. I think he was wrong in that, as the website made it clear that it was for next day delivery and I don’t recall it mentioning the length as the basis for calculating postage. I told him that I was very unimpressed and he replied to the effect that “we have done nothing wrong except to *slightly* underestimate the time it takes for delivery”. After this conversation I decided to drive to their HQ to pick it up. That took three hours. I also told them to refund the cost of postage… we shall see.
A pity because I have found their shop staff (in Cardiff) so friendly and helpful. Prices not bad either. But the mail order service was dreadful and their attitude stinks.

Four marine bluetooth handsets...all faulty
Ordered four marine bluetooth handsets. All were defective. Really un-impressed this company should try an offload non functional electronic equipment at sale prices. Undermines their credibility and demonstrates a lack of integrity. Why offer products for sale that don't work. Whatever the price this is rip off.

I was sold a used unit instead of new
I purchased a sionyx aurora from this shop. It arrived in a visibly opened inner box (no damage in transit), the unit inside had no wrapping, looked visibly used including a tick layer of dust and dirt (and i mean A LOT).
I contacted the customer service (not without problems, as they were only reachable by phone and never replied to any of the several emails i sent) and they arranged a free return, which indeed wasted lots of my time. I then got a new replacement, this time in its unopened box and new condition. I must say a really bad experience with this shop as in decades of online purchases it never occurred to me to be sent used tatty products over new sealed ones.
Also, it looks they used a shared customer service company, which deals with returns of many shops, probably to save money, so when you call "their" customer service, it is actually a third oarty company that possibly has no physical link with force 4 itself, so it already starts as a very detached way of contacting the company "directly".
Having said this, they delivered the replacement unit, so something must have worked at the very end.
Rude telephone assistant and for a mail order company it’s not great!
The telephone staff, one in particular, was so so rude, unhelpful insulted and belittled me. When they sent goods to wrong address and I had paid for express service. HOWEVER when I complained and spoke to a manager she immediately sorted out the issue, and put everything right by refunding postage and resending item to the correct address. She was understanding and apologetic. Overall a very satisfactory ending but I will never shop with them again. The product was great, and I was very satisfied with it.

Stocks are low but really nice to deal with
My experience of Force 4.
My experience with Force 4 has always been good but when I was after buying an outboard engine and the distribution centre was out of stock, the service from the shop at Chichester was excellent. They had the engine I wanted and went out of their way to get it to me even though they don't deliver directly. Well do to them for their customer service. Thanks

Think twice before ordering from Force 4!!
Item ordered was defective and a replacement was arranged and scheduled to be shipped. On day of shipment item didn't arrive and when contacted was informed it had mistakenly sold to another customer and was now on back order.
This wasn't a small item £200+ or had to opted for refund and 2 weeks of wasted time in the height of the summer.
Poor experience and would definitely think twice before choosing to order from Force 4 especially for more expensive items! I my experience not very organised and sometimes difficult to contact.
